Silencing One Voice, but Raising Another?

This week did not get off to a good start.  On Sunday, February 23, CNN announced the cancellation of Piers Morgan's talk show.  Mr. Morgan was a loud and powerful media voice for reasonable firearms laws, and my insurrectionist friends were delighted.

I personally don't think his support for reasonable firearms laws was the reason for his show being cancelled.   He had big shoes to fill, as he moved into the slot that Larry King occupied for many years.  The landscape of cable news has changed as well; CNN now finds itself between FOX News on the right, and MSNBC on the left.

Thursday,  February 27, brought a forum on crime to Harrisburg Area Community College.  While many points were raised, it does not appear that the issue of guns on the streets was brought up. I had hoped to attend this event, but my Aunt and her friends had other plans.

The Patriot-News also featured two editorials in support of reasonable firearms policy.  An opinion piece from Cynthia McKinney on "Stand your ground" laws, and a letter to the editor from a Susquehanna Township resident on the NRA-Sponsored "Great American Outdoor Show" and a billboard.
